Description

This Tramfare Special booklet tells the story of the twenty-eight year restoration project of Wolverhampton 49.

The car was built in 1909 and used the Lorain Surface Contact System, which is also covered in this booklet. Car 49 was sold off in the 1920s and became a coffin store at an undertakers in Shropshire.

It was rescued in the 1970s and restored by the Black Country Museum Transport Group and completed in 2004.
